Art of Tilo - Cheyenne

I’m Tilo Riemer, a German photographer living in the beautiful Ore Mountains in Saxony. All began with an old Praktica (East German camera) and the darkroom equipment which an old bookbinder did not need anymore. Of course, the memory of the first image that appeared in the developer tray practically out of nowhere is no longer vivid. But I know that it sent me into a state of euphoria.

Since then, photography has not let me go. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But in the meantime it has become a passion.

Each image is unique in its own way, a snapshot cast in bytes for eternity - or at least a longer time. A picture can say so much, have a different meaning for everyone. And when someone or the thing is no more, the image remains as a memory.

Moje ime je Polena. Da, najvjerojatnije jedina Polena u u Hrvatskoj, zemlji u kojoj sam se rodila. Zovite me Polly. Od mnoštva mojih nadimaka, Polly mi je glavni koji je zapravo i moje umjetničko ime. Možda će zvučati čudno, ali tako me zovu svi osim moje obitelji. Naime, rođena sam u glavnom gradu Hrvatske. To je mali, ali meni drag, grad Zagreb u kojem sam i odrasla. Ostavit ću vas u nedoumici sto se tiče mojih godina jer sam nekim čudom ostala zamrznuta. No,budući da sve ima svoj “rok trajanja”, samo čekam trenutak kad ću početi primjećivati da se lagano odmrzavam. Reci ću vam samo da sam rođena 15.9., baš na pola mjeseca.

My name is Polena. Probably the only Polena in Croatia, the country where I was born. Call me Polly. Of the multitude of my nicknames, Polly is my main one which is actually my stage name as well. It may sound weird, but that’s what everyone calls me except my family. Namely, I was born in the capital of Croatia. It is a small, but dear to me, city of Zagreb, where I grew up. I will leave you in doubt as far as my age is concerned because I miraculously stayed frozen. But since everything has its “shelf life,” I’m just waiting for the moment when I’ll start to notice that I’m thawing slightly. I'll just tell you that I was born on September 15th, exactly half a month.

Paula - todos somos únicos, diferentes y perfectos a nuestra manera / we are all unique, different and perfect in our own way

Creo que para aumentar la confianza en nosotros mismos es importante dejar de compararnos con otras personas, es importante entender que todos somos únicos, diferentes y perfectos a nuestra manera, si todos fuéramos iguales, si todos cumplieramos con los prototipos de belleza, sería un mundo muy aburrido ¿se imaginan que todos fuéramos iguales? Bueno pues yo creo en lo que dicen por ahí "en la variedad esta el placer".

I think that to increase our confidence in ourselves it is important to stop comparing ourselves with other people, it is important to understand that we are all unique, different and perfect in our own way, if we were all the same, if we all met the beauty prototypes, it would be a world very boring, can you imagine that we were all the same? Well, I believe in what they say out there "in variety is a pleasure."

Nude art is a way of expressing yourself in one way, it’s like creating the look and then working with that to seeing the final results on pictures and it really helps your confidence as a woman, some people would think it’s for male attention and even though that’s mainly the audience for this kind of magazine it’s not why I do this personally.

I just love creating different images.

My advice to anyone who is currently feeling low about their body is that nobody is telling you you can’t become whatever you want to be. I personally think body-shaming is getting lower nowadays, in high school you may get nasty comments but that’s only because that person hasn’t matured or grown-up yet to see that beauty is literally all in the personality, it’s your personality that defines you not your looks. I was the same, never had an ounce of confidence, never have and still don’t wear much makeup, bullied in school for being far too skinny yet everyone decided to ignore the fact I was champion cross country runner that did 12 miles training 5 days a week so of course there was nothing to me but the main thing I’ve learned is that as long as you love yourself and have supportive friends and family around you, nothing will ever stop you :)
